I think torturing prisoners of war is unspeakable, did you know one method of torture being used at Guantanamo Bay is to play American pop music repeatedly for days?
Metallica, AC/DC, Britney Spears, Aerosmith and British singer-songwriter David Gray are among those whose songs are "blasted" at detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay. And wait that's not it they play the "Barney " theme song too. Prisoners describe this type of torture as worse than physical torture.
Reprieve( www.reprieve.org.uk), a human rights charity is behind a campaign to stop this practice and is trying to get popular musicians involved. How would you feel if you knew your music was being used to torture people?
